Managing money in digital jars is the best way to learn-through-doing. Without them even noticing, kids start to budget intuitively, sorting what they have into different categories and setting goals for each.
With HyperJar they get the spending independence they want. You get the oversight you need.
Because we believe helping kids get into smart money habits for life should be simple. And free.
Please note: To use the app, your child must have their own phone. But any child 6 or above can use the card.
HyperJar’s award-winning app helps your kids manage their money in digital jars. This super-simple method teaches money skills for life - without them even noticing.
Create Jars for regular spending - that might be bus fares or magazines - as well as for longer-term goals, like a holiday or a special pair of footy boots. It helps them to give their pounds a purpose to see what they’ve got and where they want (or need) it to go.
Kids can name their Jars, add emojis and choose a colour - even set a balance target. Sounds simple, but naming and visualising goals really helps to achieve them.
All kids' Jars are shared with a parent. So they get spending independence and you get instant notifications whenever money is moved or spent.
HyperJar is the only free account for the whole family, from 6 to 106. So kids can share their Jars with mums and dads - as well as uncles, aunties, sisters and cousins. And get instant transfers into their Jars. Even swap messages with each other, from birthday hints to a list of chores to be done.
Set maximum spending limits within Jars, block spending from the account or restrict spending from certain Jars with spending control features .
We think there are three simple rules for a better relationship with money. They apply to kids just as much as adults - read about them here.
We all know that kids learn quickest from their parents. With HyperJar, you and your child budget and plan together using our super-simple money jars. Choosing jar names, colours and setting targets for how much they want to save up in each.
HyperJar’s 100% free pocket money app is the only one that lets kids manage money like this, with their mums and dads.
There’s just one HyperJar app - the version kids download is the same as the adult’s (with a few little tweaks). When kids with their own phone get the app on their device, they’ll be asked to link it to their adult’s account during the sign-up process.
HyperJar Kids Cards are always ‘paired’ to an adult or parent account. So kids don’t have their own account (it’s their mum or dad’s) but they do have their own card. Any child with their own phone and number can download the app on their device - they’ll be asked to link it to their adult’s account during the sign-up process.
No, we don’t allow cash withdrawals with HyperJar cards.
Kids should ask their mum or dad to contact our customer support team via Live Chat or email mailto:support@hyperjar.com if they have a question or problem with their cards.
Yes! There are zero fees added to any spend abroad when paying with the kids or adult HyperJar cards.
There are no fees for transferring money into a HyperJar account - you can move money in as often as you like. Once it lands in the adult’s account, it can be moved into the Jars they share with their kids manually or via scheduled, regular payments (eg the 1st of every month, or every Monday).
