Meet Suzanne, 54, Sheffield
Suzanne has been a foster mum for many years, with vulnerable older children. Typically they stay with her for 3-6 months. She’s married to Ahmed and they now have one 11 year old girl, Aubrey, of their own.

Suzanne's Story 1
Pocket money for foster kids
Suzanne has fosters who don’t stay for more than 6 months. She needs a solution to help them have some financial autonomy while keeping her in the loop of what they’re spending on. She also lets the children keep the card when they move home – she uses notifications to see where they are. Plus the cards are free so she’s not out of pocket on fees or anything.
Suzanne's Story 2
Annie and Aubrey
Annie’s 10 and has been staying with Suzanne for three months. She and Aubrey both love video games, so she’s set up a Jar for them on their Kids cards. Pocket money and money for chores goes in there; they can spend it together on Xbox credits. Suzanne knows what they’re spending without being too intrusive – it’s about giving them some independence without total freedom at their age.
Aubrey’s doing ballet training with Monarch Studios nearby. Suzanne spreads her payments out using HyperJar, so it doesn’t all come out at once at the start of term, plus she gets a great rate on her money.
Suzanne's Story 3
Dyson Airwrap
Suzanne’s wanted one of these for ages. Apparently they are amazing – the lady who does her hair saved up for one of her own. They’re £450, so Suzanne’s putting away £50 a month in her Dyson Jar. It’s already at £250 so well on the way. Seeing the little numbers spin because of the growth rate is really encouraging.

Janice and Philip's Story 1
Stuff for Mum
Their Mum Harriet is in a care home nearby. It’s a nice place and lots of things are included in the monthly cost, but Janice and Philip take her things regularly like books, flowers, magazines, sometimes new clothes. A shared Jar is perfect for that – really simple and fair.
Janice and Philip's Story 2
The show must go on
Philip is a theatre lover and lives in Battersea. He’s delighted about the Ambassador Theatre Group being in the app. He loves live shows and supporting the arts. He’s been putting £20 a month of HMoney aside with them for six months and is looking forward to being able to spend it.
Janice and Philip's Story 3
Bloom & Wild
Janice loves flowers and love these guys: great flowers and great packaging. She has HMoney with Bloom & Wild in two places, one in her own Jar which she uses for her own home as well as gifts, and some in the jar she and Philip share for her Mum.
Meet Bob, 45, Gravesend
Bob has been helping his neighbour Brian, 82 with his shopping as he has been worried about going out during the pandemic. Brian puts money into a shared Jar, and Bob uses it to pick up his groceries for him.

Bob's Story 1
Brian's Shopping
Since the pandemic started, Bob’s neighbour Brian has been more restricted in what he can do for himself, even though he’s pretty sprightly for his age.
Bob also budgets with his partner for groceries and has a Jar for himself for his much-loved fishing trips.
Bob's Story 2
Pub
Bob has 2 friends he regularly goes to the pub with, Mick and Lee. Bob introduced them to HyperJar and now they use a shared Jar. It makes buying rounds really fair and easy, they all just link their cards to the Pub Jar when they get there and never have to worry about splitting the bill.
Meet Helen, 32, Swindon
Helen works in a care home in Swindon. She uses shared Jars so she can pick up things for some of the people she looks after.

Helen's Story 1
Shared Jars for Carers
There are often things that old people in the care home want from the shops – and their family are not always on hand to pick them up. Shared jars in HyperJar have been a great solution.
Sometimes Helen or her colleagues have one directly with someone in the home – like Kit or Hillary – and sometimes with their children. It’s really transparent and easy and saves hassles with IOUs, petty cash, bank transfers or adding extras on to the care home fees.
